Barcelona Irish Pubs: The Wild Rover

El viernes de vuelta del Flaherty nos encontramos a un chico repartiendo flyers de un pub irlandés, y decidimos ir ayer a ver que se cocía por ahí :). The Wild Rover está situado también muy cerquita del metro Drassanes, pero hacía el otro lado de las Ramblas, en carrer de Santa Mónica, 2. Este pub es grandecito, tiene sofás y sillones antiguos, decoración de madera, una chimenea que no calienta (pero le da su toque), muchas fotos y chuminadas antiguas que lo hacen muy acogedor, y un montón de pantallas con deportes para todos los gustos, ayer echaban fútbol y rugby a la vez, según la pantalla. A medianoche tienen música en directo todos los días, lo que está muy bien. El público es mayoritariamente guiri, y los camareros también, lo cual no es de extrañar estando donde está. Los precios son muy altos, una pinta 6€ y un chupito 3€ (aunque muy bien servidos, todo hay que decirlo), y lo que más me sorprendió fue el nombre de los chupitos, sobre todo el "Irish bomb car" (hay que tener mal gusto para poner esos nombres...). En fin, un pub que si que da el pego como pub irlandés, pero un poquito muy caro.

Last friday coming back from Flaherty, we found a guy distributing flyers of an irish pub, so we decided to go there to check what was happening there :). The Wild  Rover is located very close to Drassanes station but at the other side of the Ramblas, at c/Santa Mónica, 2. This pub is quite big, it has sofas and old chairs, wood decoration, a smokestack which doesn't work (but it's nice), a lot of pictures and old things making it very cosy, and a lot of screens with different sports, yesterday they were playing football and rugby at the same time. 
At midnight they have live music every day, good point for them. The people there are mostly tourists, the waiters are english speakers, I think that is because of their location. The prices are quite high, a pint costs 6€ and a shot 3€ (even they were very well served), and the thing I was more surprised about was the name of the shots, specially the "Irish bomb car" (I don't think it's a good idea to name a shot like that...). In conclusion, it is a nice pub but quite expensive.
