This pub shares the name with the most known pub at Dublin (but not the best). The Temple Bar is located just beside My Bar. When I saw the staff of My Bar and Temple Bar were the same, I thought the worst, and it seems, they belong to the same owner, and in the same line, it is a pub for tourists. The difference with My Bar is that Temple Bar is a little bit bigger and a little bit more irish in decoration terms, but, they also play the summer hits, and the only irish thing they have is that they serve Guinness. The waiters are foreigners, maybe one of them irish, but they don't look much about it. They serve the pints too quickly, and the price is ok, a pub for going once and that's all. My Bar has a terrace and they don't, but for the rest, it's the same.

Barcelona Irish Pubs: My bar

Last week I had the chance of visiting this pub located very close to las Ramblas, close to Liceu metro station, at Ferran street (where there are a few irish pubs). It's a quite small pub with a terrace and so focused at the tourists. They play international hits and they offer different brand beers, they also offer different ciders. The pint of Guinness costs 5,5€, quite expensive, and the staff is english speaker but not irish, they have hired attractive young waiters to attract people. So, it is a pub for tourists, quite expensive and not so irish, with a quite extend variety of beers. (You know, I try to appreciate how irish the irish pubs are, so it is a standard pub of the Ramblas, but as irish pubb, I would say it is just a "ok").

Irish music at Barcelona: Folk'n'Baste (review)

Last Friday we arrived at 7,30pm, a litte bit later it started the Irish Session, a few guys playing irish traditional songs, normally for free or for a few pints :). So, for about an hour we were enjoying some irish songs while drinking Magners, could we ask for anything else? Afterwards, it was a popular dinner and later on, the projection of the movie "Waking Ned", an irish comedy quite good (but not my favourite anyway).

On Saturday morning, I went to the irish bakery workshop, where I learned how to prepare a Guinness Cake and to decorate cupcakes with irish themes.

Irish movies or movies set in Ireland: The wind that shakes the barley (El viento que agita la cebada)
This is one of my favourites movies from all the time :). It starts with the intense green of Ireland, that green that you can only find there, the Ireland green (everybody know what I'm talking about, right?). The movie is about two brothers during the irish revolution and the Independence War, they are chosen to fight against the british army and... afterwards... more things :) (I don't want to do spoilers). The story is beautiful, not just to be set in Ireland, it is a movie that makes you think, and apart of that, a little bit of Ireland history, always interesting. The main actor is Cillian Murphy, and as a curiosity I should tell you, an irish friend of mine told him she has watched this movie in spanish, and that made him laught :).

Irish dance: Jigs and Reels and Hornpipes
It's been a long time since I haven't gone to irish pubs, you know, the sun and those things don't seem very irish... So today I want to talk to you about the main types or irish traditional music for dance.
I searched for info through the internet, as I am a begginer, so what I found is:
- Reels --> it is the most common type, it consists in two or more parts which repeat twice, every part has 8 segments with 4 times, it would be like 1-2-3-4.

- Hornpipes --> it is similar to the reel about the times, as it has 4 times as well, but it has emphasis on the first and the third time.
